Misc.
These are cool websites and links that I like, and which I think others might get something out of, too!- 3 Quarks Daily - An article aggregator and blog of think pieces from around the web. Usually thoughtful and runs across many subjects: art, literature, science and politics.
- Bongard Problems - Puzzles originally meant to train a computer in pattern recognition. Fun for humans too. Author of the page was a grad student of Douglas Hofstadter, who created a few Bongard Problems himself. The Rules.
- XylyXylyX on Youtube - This creator has a series of physics lectures good for re-teaching yourself General Relativity with all the nitty-gritty details. Not recommended as an introduction, though. Starts with 40 1-hour lessons of "What is a Tensor?" and progresses from there.
- If you're a fan of polyrhythm, robertinvetor on Youtube is great for both unique beats and visualizations.
- And speaking of polyrhythm, the best use of polyrhythm by a post-punk band would have to The Talking Heads with their album Remain in Light
- And speaking of post-punk bands, Pylon was an 80s post-punk band that never really made it beyond Athens, GA, unlike contemporaries R.E.M. and The B-52s, but their music was just as unforgetable. Some surviving members rebanded in 2016 as the Pylon Reenactment Society.
